I don’t care for the processed flour shit, and it’s just one more thing aside from burning the butter that adds to the texture of these cookies. They don’t really rise but stay flat and chewy. The turbinado sugar works with the burnt butter and toffee bits to give them a nice caramel taste and texture. It’s like fucking badass candy. Rich as all hell.

Ruthless Rye is badass. Probably my new favorite beer. Sad I’m out but that’s ok when you work at a beer store half a mile from your house. The job is a fucking enabler.

This looks like a really good staple recipe to have, and looks rich as all get out. I'm looking forward to seeing more recipes here…Is there a particular reason behind using whole wheat flour instead of AP flour? Color? Happened to be what's in the cabinet? I'll have to start trying out the turbinado sugar instead of brown sugar as well…smokingthefuck out of cookies is a step that's regrettably absent from most recipes. Must do more of that.

Just had Ruthless Rye for the first time Sunday – wish I'd coordinated drinking it with my cookiemaking, but alas. Next time.
